Lesson Title: JUSTIFIED BY FAITH IN CHRIST

For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:
Having faith in someone else is the greatest gift that one can give to another. Why is faith greater than any other gift? Paul stated that Jesus died in vain if we place our faith in anything other than Him.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:
Paul suggests that what distinguished Christians from other people were not external markings, but rather our common interest and commitment to charity and advocacy on behalf of the poor. The church too often is guilty of neglecting its singular mandate: to love and do justice. Sometimes our theological disputes serve to help us avoid the real work of the ministry. In the worst cases, the only casualties of our theological wars are those people who have a genuine desire to serve.

The letter to the Galatians challenges the church to face its in-house disputes. Paul challenged us to extend welcome and hospitality to all who express faith in Christ Jesus.

America America is an uplifting new collection of patriotic songs and a celebration of the heritage and history that we all share. In addition to nine songs that honor our nation and are works in the public domain, Winans has penned three new original songs- the first single “America America,” “We’re the United States of America,” and the poignant “Ultimate Sacrifice.” The latter is a moving tribute to our troops, acknowledging and thanking them for the personal sacrifices they make each day to protect our freedoms.  A video for the single, shot in New York City and Washington D.C., will be released in the coming weeks.

David Peaston, one of St. Louis’ native sons and hit R&B singer,  has passed away at the age of 54, due to complications from diabetes according to his niece this past Wednesday.

Peaston captured the national stage with his captivating singing voice, and  such hits as “Two Wrongs (Don’t Make It Right),” “Can I,” and “God Bless The Child.”
